Very good food, but the service is the worst I ever have in Bali!. I tried to get delivered 3 nights only arrived once. Very disappointed ☹️ with service. Honestly buy food somewhere else guys because it won't turn up.
Terrible place. The servers always look angry for some reason and the dim sum tastes like it was made a week ago. I like Chinese food but this is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever witnessed. Maybe because they are lucky enough to have a great location they put no effort into the food and service.
Nasi Goreng Spesial milik Golden Monkey memang selalu bikin kangen, memang secara harganya di atas rata - rata namun porsi makanan disini untuk keluarga atau sharing. Pelayanan disini juga cukup baik dan interiornya pun tidak kalah keren.
Makanan enak enak dan porsi besar.. pesen nasi goreng cukup untuk berdua.. manakan dari babinya mantap..

ここにだけは来ないでください。ウェイトレスは四六時中、店の隅で雑談していて、わざわざこちらから行かないと注文もできない。私だけでなく隣のテーブルの客もそうしてました。そのくせチップは10%も取ります。私はアメリカ在住なので20%のチップを払う事にも全く抵抗はありませんが、バリ島のレストランのチップは大概が5%な中で、その倍も取るのであれば、きちんと仕事はして欲しい。メニューの内容すらわからない最悪のウェイトレスです。

My first experience with dimsum breakfast at Golden Monkey Ubud occurred in 2018 and 2019, when my Jakartan gang attended a literary festival in the international village - Ubud. My personal favorites include the roast duck, dim sum selection, flying tiger prawn, and chilled mango pudding (this one is to die for!). As I now live permanently in Ubud, I will make dimsum breakfast date at Golden Monkey Ubud as a Sunday routine with my better half.
This isn’t our first visit, and it certainly won’t be our last. Every time we come, the food and service are exceptional. During our last visit for Chinese New Year, everything was absolutely delicious—crisp, fresh vegetables and perfectly seasoned, piping hot dishes. The pecking duck is among the best in Bali! The dining area had a wonderful festive atmosphere as well. The service was personal and attentive; it’s clear that the chef and the team are doing an amazing job. Thank you so much—we’ll definitely be back!
Ich hatte mich so auf den monkey gefreut wurde jedoch sehr enttäuscht, wir waren zu 2 da ich hatte die die hot-sour soup, eine rostet duck BBQ Ente und den namen der vorspeise weiss ich leider nicht mehr, meine freundin hatte gebratenen reis vegetarisch mit gemüse und frühlingsrollen. Zuerdt kam alles nacht etwa 5 minuten zuerst die hauptspeise danach die vorspeise, alles wurde irgendwie auf den tisch geschmissen ohne zu fragen wem was ist, optisch war es ansprechend jedoch musste ich feststellen die ente war kalt und bestand mehr aus knochen wie aus fleisch, die suppe war total verwürzt znd hatte irgendwie echt komische sachen drinn wie tentakeln und irgendwelche leber von irgendwelchen tieren das war nirgends beschrieben, ich weiss das diese suppe je nach region ein bisschen variieren kann aber sowas gehört nicht rein finde ich ausser es steht da ausdrücklich. Die vorspeisen die zuletzt kamen konnte man einigermassen essen jedoch nichts spezielles, schnell aus dem tiefkühler fertigprodukte in die fritteuse und fertig. Der Vegetarische Reis meiner Freundin war das allerletste, es hatte schweineschwarte drinn und der Komplette Reis und das Gemüse schmeckten einfach nach Fett, alles hat getrieft von Fett und Öl und hat nur nach schweinefett geschmeckt und zwar nach altem verbrutzeltem schweinefett...wir konnten es leider garnicht geniessen obwohl wir das restaurant an sich schön fanden und unbedingt darin essen wollten. Der service tat mir ein bisschen leid es hatten mehrere leute reklamiert jedoch waren auch die meisten aus dem service relativ unfreundlich und hatten kein interesse an den kunden gezeigt!
Food is tasty, and well presented, but service is abysmal, I need to ask for silverware and waitress was just playing games on the phone in a higher volume. I recommend only take out..this way you will not be disappointed
Please stay away from this restaurant. Nothing is good about it. You would be wasting your time and money. I went home staving.
저는 여기 상당히 맘에 들었어요. 인테리어는 평범하지만 근처 다른 맛집들ㅂ보다 맛은 뛰어났습니다. 서버분들도 은근 친절하시구요. 근처 식당 웨이팅 심하다면 여기 추천!
Food is okay, but does not really taste like the original flavours that you’d expect. The service is nice though, but pretty expensive for what you get.

발리 음식이 좀 지겨워져서 중식을 먹어봤는데 기대했던 것보단 괜찮았습니다. 딤섬은 그냥 그랬고 볶음국수와 탕수육이 괜찮았어요. 가격은 비싼편이라 1인당 2만원 조금 넘게나왔네요.
The service so terrible! Our order was forgotten and we wait for more than half an hour. I asked multiple times but got no response. The employees didn't seem to know what they were doing. There was not professional waiter at all. Why did they charge such an expensive price?
There are not many Chinese restaurants in Ubud so expect to pay higher than average prices. Also, the weekend buffet (all you can eat) dim sum ended 3 months ago. The food was average. We ordered charsiu congee, it was very plain, not made with broth and the charsiu was very fatty.On the plus side, the seating is comfortable.
5 stars for the garlic kaylan and the roast chicken was very crispy albeit a bit salty for my taste. I had also the congee with roast pork, which I found to be a bit chewy and not fully authentic Cantonese style fare but it will probably hit the spot if you're craving it!
Dumplings waren top. Gemischte Platte mit drei Fleischsorten ging gar nicht. Keine der drei Sorten war frisch! Als Kenner der Küche kann ich das sehr gut beurteilen. Die gebackene Banane hat auch extrem viel Luft nach oben und war geschmacklich wohl ein Ergebnis von ranzigem alten Frittierfett. Schade
Repas à emporter, ultra cher pour ce que c'était. Le canard avec plein d'os est coupé à la va-vite , portions légères. Très déçu...

I would like to provide some feedback about my recent dining experience. While the food was generally enjoyable, I noticed a few opportunities for improvement. Specifically, the dim sum could have spent a few more minutes in the steamer for optimal texture. Additionally, the beef in the beef hotplate dish could be thinner and more tender, which could potentially be achieved by using bicarbonate of soda. Furthermore, the sauce could benefit from being slightly thickened with cornstarch.
I really wanted to give it 4 stars for food. After travelling in Bali for about 1 week, I finally have craving for Chinese food & recall someone telling me that Golden money is great. Everything is on point taste wise except the food tasted like the chef forgot to taste the food after he’s done cooking. Most of the food were over salted but The best one was sweet and sour pork. It was perfectly done! I would recommend if you are craving some authentic Chinese food, and if you like your food super salty.

Ordered delivery and it took over 1.5hours to get delivered. And it’s just always disappointing when the food is meh. Everything had no flavour.
저녁 9시전에 방문하여 식사하였고, 직원들에게 푸대접을 받는 느낌이 들었습니다.(인종차별 비슷한 느낌) 소스 그릇 및 물컵엔 이물질이 묻어있어 위생상태가 좋지 않음을 알게되었고, 맥주컵 또한 지저분하여 병째로 마셔야 했습니다. 주문한 메뉴는 비교적 늦지 않게 나왔으며, 볶음밥은 그나마 먹을만했습니다. 허나 쌀국수는 국수라 보기엔 갈기갈기 찢어져 있었으며, 누군가 주문했던것을 데워서 준듯 떡져있어서 차마 먹을 수 없었습니다. 물론 같이 나온 돼지고기 토핑도 약간의 잡내가 났구요. 왜 다른 사람들이 리뷰가 그모양인지 알수 있었습니다. 메뉴판을 보자마자 딱히 먹을만한게 없어보여서, 그나마 나아보이는 쌀국수와 볶음밥이 이 모양이여서, 다른 메뉴 상태는 물보듯 뻔했습니다. 심지어 발리치고 비쌈 (쌀국수, 볶음밥, 빈땅2 : 거의 3만원)이러한 경험이 필요한 분들만 방문 바랍니다.^^
The restaurant is advertised as the most authentic Chinese restaurant in ubud and I would agree to that. However, being a Chinese and knowing what authentic Chinese food taste like, I could only rate the food 3 star. Taste was okay but not extraordinary.The service could be improved. Not very friendly or talkative when asking for information around the dishes.
